Sunbear Lodge

Sunbear Lodge is a classic 1960's Phillip Island elevated pole house and located in the sleepy semi-rural seaside hamlet of Ventnor on Phillip Island where you can kick back, relax and enjoy the sounds and smells of the sea.

Ventnor boasts a general store, a local friendly "Paddock to Plate" butcher, fresh organic produce and fantastic coffee and food from "The Store" as well as the Phillip Island Winery with it's sensational views, delicious food and great wine.

The world famous Penguin Parade and Nobbies tourist centres are just along the road.

Sea and seafood

Pick up fresh seafood in San Remo, or cross the bridge to the village of Newhaven to catch your own. Take the kids to Churchill Island, the site of Victoria's first European settlement, or visit the National Surfing Reserve on the south coast of the island to surf big ocean swells at Smiths Beach, Cape Woolamai and and Cat Bay.

Flourishing wildlife

Stroll through the mangroves and spot native bird life around Rhyll Inlet, stand cheek to furry cheek with koalas at the Koala Conservation Centre or watch the penguins cross the sand at dusk at the famous penguin parade on Summerlands Beach.

Surf, sand, sun and fun

Cowes boasts calm north facing beaches, perfect for splashing around with the kids and picnics in the sand. Follow it up with an ice cream and a wander through the myriad of seaside cafes, pubs and restaurants. Join a boat tour to see the colony of fur seals and then head off to see the world famous Grand Prix circuit. Catch major events that run throughout the year.

LOCATION

Phillip Island is an easy 1 hour 45 drive from Melbourne by car.

The house is situated in Ventnor and is a 200m walk from a safe swimming beach and just a 5 minute drive from great surf beach.
